This applet is drop-in replacement for my previous MagicCrystal applet. It is completely redesigned to optimize the drawing. It works much faster and is more stable.

AND CAN BE USED ABSOLUTLY FREE with the KEY "FreeVersion"

A few words about this applet:

The applet can be used with any gif87 non-interlaced image. This image can be zoomed out to1:2 by the applet for better quality of lens effect. The zoomed image will be centered in the applet area. For better appearance, leave some empty area around the zoomed image. Best results can be obtained when the area width is equal to the radius of the lens. For example, if the original image has the size 400x300 and the SPOTR parameter value is 20, then for best results choose applet sizes: 

WIDTH=imagewidth/2+SPOTR*2=400/2+20*2=240
HEIGHT=imageheight/2+SPOTR*2=300+20*2=190
(It's the matter of taste of course.)

Note: original image will be zoomed out 1:2
SPOTR Radius of magic spot (default value='"20")
BGCOLOR Applet background color, may be useful for transparent images. Default value=000000. For example, if you want a blue background, then you should write VALUE="0000FF" (optional)
OUTLINECOLOR Lens outline color (optional). Omit this parameter if you do not need the outline.
TEXTCOLOR Main text color (optional), default value="00FF00"
TEXTHIGHLIGHT Text highlight color (optional), default value="FF0000"
LINK0 ....LINKn Text highlight color (optional), default value="FF0000" Map area description is placed in the following order of parameters separated by semicolons:

"URL; left; top; right; bottom; StatusBarText; Description; targetwindowname"

URL - full or relative document URL
left, top, right, bottom - link area margins.
StatusBarText - Text to be displayed in browser status bar (optional)
Description- Text to be displayed in applet window on mouse over link area.
targetwindow - name of target window/frame in browser or one of the following: _top, _blank or _self (optional)


If you do not specify the parameter then you need to have at least one space character between semicolon separators. Areas can overlap, the first link has the higher priority.

Note: link area coordinates should be given with the original image coordinates (not zoomed)

KEY Obligatory parameter. For FREE use on any server use this value:
VALUE="FreeVersion"
With above KEY value Applet has a slightly limited functionality and adds a link back to my pages. Registered applet wouldn't add a link to my site.
